Please, please, please DO NOT take the blimp directly from Jacksonville to Orlando.

Instead, on the 29th, do the smart thing and take her all the way south to AT LEAST Daytona and preferably Melbourne if possible, and then ride over above 528. You will be exposed to FAR MORE eyeballs that way. I assure you, the Ocala National Forest isn’t very populated compared to our beaches. Your plans seem to have plenty of blimp for the west coast and Orlando, which is fine, but us east-coasters need some blimp, too!!! Please, stay on the coast and then stay over the Beeline. Trust me, I’ve lived in Florida all my life, and I know this state. Thanks.

JMR’s right. The blimp should definitely try to hug the coast as much as possible.

  3. jray Says:

If the blimp wants to contact meetups in the Melbourne area to time a fly-over of the east coast, I’d be MORE than glad to assist, assuming this isn’t breaking some stupid election law I know nothing about. jray at martincam.com gets me. Please take our advice, in this case, a straight line — while the shortest distance between 2 points — is exactly the WRONG thing to do. I hope (in part because I’m a contributor…) we can actually get a schedule-response out of the blimp team ASAP, that would make planning an event Saturday easier.

agreed. hug the coast. by the 8th there will be huge paul news coming out of iowa/nh and blimp funding should (i think) be forthcoming. but maybe less-so if it’s just flying over south-central nowhere. go all the way around the coast, all the way.

also. do you really need posters to register? it pretty much kills a minor (no offense) blog.

  5. rightcoast Says:

Whoa, JMR is right. You guys need to be sure not to even consider flying over 300 miles of swamp. Gators don’t vote. Go down the 95 corridor, and then take the beeline to Orlando. He has the right idea.
